Sharm El Sheikh has some of the best coral reefs in the world right at its doorstep, and the mountains of Sinai behind it. These are the trips we recommend most.
Snorkelling and boat trips
Ras Mohammed and White Island
Ras Mohammed National Park is famous for its coral walls and huge schools of fish. The boat trip combines snorkelling at its reefs with a stop at White Island, a sandbank in the middle of the sea. From €25 per person with lunch.
If you prefer to stay on land, the half-day trip by bus visits the park's viewpoints and beaches with snorkelling from the shore, from €17 per person.
Tiran Island
A cruise to the reefs of the Straits of Tiran, with clear water and lots of fish, and lunch on board. From €46 per person, or a private speedboat for your group from €220 per boat.

The Coloured Canyon trip takes you by jeep into the mountains and on a walk of about 800 metres through a canyon of colourful rock. Then you continue to the coast of Dahab for snorkelling, a camel ride, a quad ride and lunch in a Bedouin tent by the sea. A long and full day, from €22 per person.

Cairo and Luxor from Sharm
Cairo is about seven hours by road from Sharm El Sheikh, so the bus trip is a very long day, from €78 per person. By flight it is about an hour, from €248 per person. Luxor is only practical by flight, from €292 per person.
