Hurghada Airport Transfer Times to Every Resort (and Prices)

Hurghada Airport (HRG) sits just south of the city, so most hotels are close. The drive to your resort can still be 10 minutes or 3 hours. Here are the real transfer times by private car, door to door, with the price for the whole car.

1. Hotels close to the airport (up to 45 minutes)

These resorts are a short drive from the airport. Times are for a normal day; at night the roads are emptier and the drive is even quicker.

  • Hurghada city (Sheraton Road, Village Road, El Dahar, El Mamsha): 10–25 minutes · from €10 per car

2. Soma Bay, Safaga and Kalawy (45–60 minutes)

💡 Soma Bay is on its own peninsula. The last part of the road runs along the bay to the hotels, so allow the full hour.

3. El Quseir and Marsa Alam (2 to 5 hours)

South of Safaga the road follows the coast through the desert. It is a good, quiet road, but the distances are long, so a comfortable car matters.

For these long rides the driver picks you up at your door and stops on the way when you need a break.

5. Which car do you need?

All prices above are for the whole car, not per person, and include the waiting time at the airport. The car size depends on the number of people and suitcases:

  • Sedan: up to 3 passengers with 3 suitcases
  • Minivan: up to 4 passengers with 4 suitcases
  • Van (Toyota Hiace): up to 10 passengers, the best choice for families with a lot of luggage
  • Coaster: up to 18 passengers for groups

6. The way back: when to leave the hotel

Be at the airport about three hours before your flight. Add the transfer time from the list above: from Hurghada city you leave the hotel about 3.5 hours before take-off, from Soma Bay about 4 hours before, and from Marsa Alam about 6.5 hours before. When you book, we suggest the pickup time for your flight.
